R9K Tuned started back in 2006 with a young mechanical engineering student who fell in love with a certain frowned up Toyota engine. Being the owner himself of a Matrix XRS and then a Corolla XRS, he quickly began tinkering with the 2ZZ-GE engine looking to extract its maximum potential. With a limited aftermarket, he used his mechanical engineering studies to develop parts that are now seen as the standard. Such parts include: 1st long tube 4-1 race header (developed with PPE Engineering), 1st long-tube 4-2-1 Tri-Y Race Header (developed with PPE Engineering), 1st Corolla/Matrix XRS Power FC Conversion Harness, 1st Corolla/Matrix XRS Stock ECU Reflash, 1st CFD developed CNC Ported Intake Manifold, 1st Mech. Water Pump Elimination Kit and many other collaborations.
Tuning became a big aspect of this tinkering and thru long hours designing and dyno testing R9K Tuned has become one of the premier 2ZZ-GE tuners with great successes also in such engines as the: 3S-GE BEAMS, 4A-GE, 3S-GTE, 2AZ-FE, 2AR-FE, 2GR-FE and 1ZZ-FE. Accomplishments include: Fastest/Quickest All Motor Toyota Echo (2ZZ-GE) and Fastest/Quickest All Motor Toyota Celica (2ZZ-GE) and Fastest/Quickest All Motor Corolla XRS (2ZZ-GE) as well as one of the first to break the 500whp range in the 2ZZGE back in 2008 and one of the first Toyota MR-S in the 11’s back in 2009. Many of these records have been set with custom developed installations of highly regarded aftermarket ECU’s such as: Apex-i Power FC, AEM EMS4, AEM Infinity, and Nemesis Hydra EMS. Some of these record setting cars have been remote tuned and have earned R9K Tuned international recognition.
Now looking to help the community further and move underutilized Toyota engines into the limelight, we decided to create a place where the community can come to find the best parts available for their engine as well as custom parts available only thru R9K Tuned.
